Description
of Material		 Madura Gold granite is a yellowish to light brown gneiss with some dark brown-red garnets. This stone internationally may be nominated as a granite but in the area of application of the European Standard this stone must be nominated as gneiss. Ideal for both interior and exterior use, Madura Gold granite is frost free and polish constant. The veining and colour varies considerably and a small sample is not representative of the whole slab.
Colour Change and Variation in slabs For large projects we ensure that the blocks are all extracted from the same quarry for matching purposes.The veining and colour of Madura Gold varies considerably, not only from different deliveries of blocks but from one end of a single slab to the other. A small sample is not representative of the whole slab. Madura Gold is very prone to breakage in longer worktops with sink or hob cut outs so extra jointing on a kitchen may apply(compared to other granites or other types of materials(quartz surfaces)).

We actively encourage customers to visit our showroom, factory and stock yard to choose your granite slabs before fabrication.This ensures you get the right product and information on your selection every time.
We recommend that you do not buy granite over the internet or from samples sent in the post. Huge variations can occur not only between different slabs but in the slab its self, from one end
to the other.

RESISTANCE TO SCRATCHING

Quartz has a hardness of 7 in the Mohs hardness scale (diamond is number 10). Therefore, whereas with the majority of other worktops, such as those made of graniteor melamine, which can get scratched, with Silestone no mark is left. Silestone is highly resistant but should not be treated with reckless force, care needs to be taken with knife blades.

Silestone can be used in any interior surface, including kitchen and bathroom worktops, stairs, panels, bath tubs and bath surrounds, floors, walls, bar counters, tables and desks, etc

RESISTANCE TO KNOCKS

The high level of resistance of Silestone quartz worktopsto knocks, far surpasses that of other products with similar applications (granite, solid surfaces, etc. This resistance provides peace of mind in the kitchen when handling very hard objects (saucepans, trays, etc).

Such resistance is achieved thanks to its composition: quartz (hardness) and polyester resin (elasticity), and the vibro-compression system used in its production process. Silestone is highly resistant but should not be treated with reckless force, care needs to be taken with very heavy objects and worktop edges.
